KJWW provided mechanical, electrical, structural, and technology designs for an expansion and renovation project at Wheaton North High School in Wheaton, Illinois.
The 160,000 SF expansion added:
- two new classroom wings
- music and choral rooms
- new field house
- science lab
- administration facilities
The 35,500 SF renovation updated:
- administration offices
- boys and girls lock rooms
- existing classroom space
Mechanical designs required careful planning as engineers met the challenge of integrating multiple existing mechanical system types with new mechanical systems such as connecting an existing two-pipe system with a new four-pipe system, and a new chiller tied into an existing, older chiller.
