KJWW provided structural, mechanical, electrical, technology and acoustics design services for a new 50,000 SF event center for the City of Bettendorf. The project also included connecting the center to the Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino via a sky bridge with tower and elevator. The event center includes a 15,000 SF conference center with seating for up to 2,000.
As construction began, new acoustic goals were set for the event hall. KJWW’s acoustics group responded quickly, modeling the hall’s acoustics and recommending new finishes in only 12 days.
KJWW structural engineers used Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to create a three dimensional model in order to view a physical model of the structure. Members could do the following:
- View footing depths and sizes
- Review equipment clearances
- View structural member sizes and properties
- View components as they relate to the architect’s 3D model
Revit was also utilized by KJWW’s lighting designer to see how the roof space frame members would interact with the lighting design for the space.
