Description |

Pleasant Valley, Iowa, has continued to steadily grow over the past several years. A new elementary school was needed to accommodate the increased enrollment in the district.
This is a Two Section project (two classrooms per grade) kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school, with possible plans to expand to four section school and add three preschool classrooms. In addition to classrooms, the building includes:
- self sufficient kitchen
- separate science room
- separate art room
- special 460 square foot "commons" areas for each of two grades.
This project, a greenfield school built in a farm field, is constructed with a tight budget. The elementary school will use variable air volume with energy recovery on exhaust for preheating outside air, high efficiency boilers, and air cooled chiller due to meet budget requirements.
