KJWW Engineering is providing MEP and technology engineering for a new 130,000 SF classroom and office building for the College of Public Health. The building will house the following academic departments - Health Management and Policy, Community/Behavioral Health, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics. Occupational and Environmental Health would relocate at a future date.
The building design includes two 5-level wings:
- Classrooms
- Seminar rooms
- Administrative Offices
- Computer Labs
- Conference rooms
- Student lounge
- Cafeteria
The University will pursue LEED certification for this project. Sustainable design features include reflective roofing, use of natural lighting, permeable paving systems, vegetative swales and native species planting areas.
Plans also include shell space on the top level for the future fit-out of a 200-seat auditorium and additional classroom and meeting space.
